The research aims to develop a multi-cultural education program in clothing and textile for multi-cultural children, to help them adjust to Korean climate, peer group, and school life, and to enhance perception and attitude toward multi-culture. The research was conducted by reviewing previous research on curriculum, by developing program following preparation, development, and improvement process, and by evaluating validity and on-site need analysis of experts. At the preparation stage, we set up six subjects relying on research including child-learner, teacher, need analysis at time, multi-cultural family, and clothing and textile research. The development stage includes goal-setting for education program, chaptering by subject, deciding learning goals and detailed contents, and developing learning strategy and evaluation tools. The improvement stage, the last stage, was to offer work-books to eleven experts or primary school teachers in order for them to evaluate program subjects, learning contents, learning activities, checking validity chapter after chapter as well as to conduct on-site evaluation for 10 multi-cultural children, applying the outcome to redesign the program. The final program was constructed to contain such subjects as environment and clothing life, traditional clothing life in the world, development of countrywide T-shirts with dying and design, appearance analysis and styling, shoes culture and accessory design, exploration of clothing and textile education

연구는 다문화아동을 대상으로 의생활 다문화교육프로그램을 개발하여 다문화아동들이 의생활을 통해서 우리나라의 기후환경, 학교생활, 사회생활에서의 적응에 도움을 주고, 다문화에 대한 인식과 태도를 함양시키고자하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 교육과정과 선행연구를 중심으로 문헌을 고찰하였고, 현장요구분석에 따라 준비, 개발, 개선의 단계를 거쳐 프로그램을 개발 한 후, 전문가의 프로그램 타당도 평가, 현장평가의 순으로 진행하였다. 준비단계에서는 학습자, 초등교사, 다문화관련 전문가, 시대적 요구를 분석하고, 다문화가정과 의생활 관련 연구를 바탕으로 6가지 주제를 선정하였다. 개발단계에서는 교육프로그램의 목표를 설정한 후에 주제별로 단원을 정하고, 단원에 따라 학습목표와 세부 교육내용을 선정하고 학습전략과 평가도구를 개발하여 의생활 다문화교육프로그램을 개발하였다. 개선단계에서는 의류관련 전문가, 초등학교 교사 11명에게 워크북을 제공하여 프로그램의 주제, 학습내용, 학습활동을 단원별로 타당토를 평가하게 하였고, 다문화아동 10명을 대상으로 현장평가를 실시하여, 그 결과를 바탕으로 프로그램을 재개발하였다. 최종 개발된 프로그램의 활동 주제는 ‘환경과 의생활’, ‘세계의 전통 의생활’, ‘염색과 디자인을 활용한 국가별 티셔츠 개발’, ‘외모 분석과 스타일링’, ‘신발문화와 액세서리 제작’, ‘아시아 의생활교육내용 탐구’로 구성되었다.
