In order to understand the herpetofauna of Korea National Park in Baekdudaegan, we researched data that have been studied since 2001 for Seorak, Odae, Sobaek, Worak, Songni, Deogyu, and Jiri National Park. As a result, it has been turned out there are total 2 orders, 7 families, 13 species of amphibians and 2 orders, 6 families, 16 species of reptiles. 72.2% of amphibians and 80% of reptiles in the republic of Korea inhabit 7 National Parks in Baekdudaegan. Also, since it has been found that endangered species designated by the Korea ministry of environment such as Elaphe schrenckii (Endangered species, Level I), Kaloula borealis (Endangered species, Level II), and Chimenys reevesii (Endangered species, Level II) inhabit in Baekdudaegan, continuous conservation effort is needed. We must put our effort in elimination of Trachemys scripta elegans which cause disturbance of ecosystem and raise public awareness problem of releasing invasive species.

백두대간 내 국립공원 지역의 양서·파충류상을 파악하기 위하여 설악산, 오대산, 소백산, 월악산, 속리산, 덕유산, 지리산국립공원 등 7개 공원을 대상으로 2001년부터 현재까지 조사된 자료를 조사하였다. 그 결과, 양서류 는 총 2목 7과 13종, 파충류는 2목 6과 16종으로 나타났나, 남한에 분포하는 양서류의 72.2%, 파충류의 80%가 백 두대간에 포함된 7개 국립공원에 서식하는 것으로 확인되었다. 또한, 환경부 지정 멸종위기종인 구렁이(멸종위기 I 급), 맹꽁이(멸종위기 II급), 남생이(멸종위기 II급)가 서식하는 것으로 확인되어 이들에 대한 보호노력을 지속적으로 실시해야 하며, 생태계교란 야생동물인 붉은귀거북 제거노력과 외래종 방사에 대한 문제점 등에 대한 계몽활동을 추진해야 할 것으로 생각된다.
