The purpose of this study was to analyze shot put technique in female elementary school shot putters. Fourteen shot putters who participated in the 41st National Junior Sports Festival were subjects in this study. A cutoff performance in the Festival of 10m was used to separate participants into one of two groups (skilled and less skilled). Three digital video cameras were used to collect kinematic data. The independent sample t-test was conducted to verify statistical differences between the two groups(p<.05). The results of this study were as follows: 1) In the glide phase, the skilled group was shorter in movement time and their glide length was longer 2) In the transition phase, the skilled group's maximum horizontal velocity of their centers of gravity was greater 3) In the release phase, the skilled group had a greater resultant release velocity, elbow extension angle, and faster mean elbow angular velocity. In addition, the skilled group had a projectile trajectory closer to the center of the legal projectile range. These results can be used as a guide for coaches of female elementary school shot putters.

본 연구는 초등학교 여자 포환던지기 동작에 대한 운동학적 특성을 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 제 41회 전국 소년체전의 초등학교 여자 포환던지기 경기에 참가한 선수 중에서 기록이 10m 이상인 우수선수 집단 7명과 기록이 10m 이하인 비우수선수 집단 7명을 연구 대상으로 하였다. 선수들의 운동학적 자료를 획득하기 위해 3대의 디지털 비디오 카메라를 동원하였고, 포환던지기 경기 시 우수선수 집단과 비우수선수 집단의 운동학적 특성에 대한 통계적 차이를 규명하기 위해 독립 t-test를 실시하였다. 이때 유의 수준은 .05로 설정하였다. 이러한 연구 설계를 토대로 도출된 결과는 다음과 같다. 글라이드 구간에서 우수선수 집단은 비우수선수 집단에 비해 동작시간이 더 짧고 글라이드 길이는 더 긴 것으로 나타났다. 전환 구간에서는 무게중심의 최대 수평속도의 경우 우수선수 집단이 비우수선수 집단보다 더 빠른 것으로 나타났다. 릴리즈 구간에서 우수선수 집단은 비우수선수 집단에 비해 투사속도가 더 빠르고 팔꿈치관절의 신전 각도는 더 크며 팔꿈치관절의 평균 각속도는 더 빠른 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 포환의 이동 궤적은 우수선수 집단이 비우수선수 집단에 비해 포환 투척 시 목표 방향이 되는 중심선에 더 일치하는 것으로 나타났다.
