There had been accident occurred twice in succession that the two of the KCG members killed by the illegal act chinese vessels during the police enforcement mission in the year 2008, 2011 that caused crisis of the Korea maritime Jurisdiction and criticized for causing KCG equipped the way doing mission.
Under this circumstances, KCG has been exerting every effort to preserve the sea jurisdiction against the illegal act and examine this issue from every aspect including systematic of sea laws using police equipped enforcement.
But this policy takes so much time to think over in the right of the human being and probable possibility of the toll of lives.
Therefore, re-examination on using the police equipment and study other facts on that matters are to be needed.
Subject of this research is confined within the KCG equipment for the counter measure for the illegal sea-borne crimes of the chinese fishing vessels and refer to the KCG datum since 2006.
There are few research papers on the KCG equipment or using weaponry if the illegal acts at the sea-borne crime.
It is needed to further and depths study more after this research

본 연구는 2008년과 2011년 중국어선 단속관련 연속 발생한 해양경찰관의 사망사건으로 인하여 해양의 법질서 위기라는 지적과 경찰장비 등 무장을 갖추고도 불법 중국어선에 당했다는 비난에 따라 해양경찰에서는 해상에서 단속 경찰관의 공무집행에 흉기 등으로 대항한 불법어선을 제압하고 법질서 확립을 위한 다각도의 노력을 하고 있지만 단시간에 이루어지는 정책이 아니기 때문에 현재 보유하고 있는 장비를 가지고 효율적으로 대처해야 할 필요성이 제기되고, 특히 개인의 생명보호와 안전을 위하고 불법행위에 강력 대처하기 위하여 해양에서 경찰장비 사용에 대한 제도적인 문제와 대처하는 방안을 재검토하는데 그 목적이 있다.
연구대상은 불법 중국어선 범죄행위에 대응하기 위한 경찰장비에 한정하였고, 연구범위와 방법으로는 우리나라 관할 해상에서 일어나고 있는 2006년 이후 중국불법어선의 범죄행위에 대하여 해양경찰청의 내부 자료에 의존하였다. 해양에서의 무기 또는 경찰장비 사용에 관한 기존의 연구 자료가 전무하여 향후 거시적이고 종합적인 연구가 필요하다.
