초록
영어
Even though there have been many studies about the activities of Japanese business associations from various perspectives, almost none of these have done empirical research about the effect of the activity of business association on the industry. Focusing on Japanese
manufacturing industry, this study empirically analyzes the effect of the activities of business associations on the profitability.
Major findings of this study are; (i) budget size (which is supposed to measure the activities of business associations) has statistically significant positive effect on the price-cost margin ; (ii) the effect of activities of business associations on the price-cost margin becomes smaller as the production scale of companies becomes larger; and (iii) factors such as production scale of companies, capital coefficient, R&D investment ratio, growth rate also have statistically significant positive effects on the price-cost margin.
