Main characteristics of the paradigm of cognitivism and cognitive science were described. It was discussed that human cognitive abilities are limited and thus human cognition is of bounded rationality, which suggests that the rationality assumption of neoclassic economics is ill supported by cognitive science. Some possible implications of the recent developments in theoretical frames of cognitive science - connectionism, cognitive neuroscience, and embodied cognition approach - for economics, esp. for cognitive economics, were briefly discussed. It was also discussed that there are some necessity for reexamining critically the implicit presuppositions and assumptions of economics and for adopting levels of explanation frame in understanding and describing economic phenomenon.

인지과학의 패러다임적 주요 특성을 약술하고, 인간인지의 한계성에 의한 제한적 합리성의 시사하는 바를 논한 후, 인지과학의 계속되는 주요 변화 흐름 - 연결주의, 인지신경과학, 체화된 인지 -의 특성이 경제학과 인지경제학의 전개에 어떠한 시사를 주는가를 논하고, 경제학이 과학철학적으로 그 전제와 가정에 대한 엄밀한 분석을 하며 다원적 설명의 틀을 도입하여야 할 필요성을 논하였다.
