A comprehensive review of research in Korean Culture Education with the aim of examining the research topic and its methodology thus far not been executed, though lots of Korean Culture Education research has been accomplished since the eighties.
A thorough review of the previous research on Korean Culture Education will assist in understanding the topic area needed to be studied in the field and the relevant methodology as well. This study will analyse previous research on Korean Culture Education, about 419 studies published in the journals related to Korean Culture Education and as well as academic dissertations made up the study. The research was analysed based on three variables: chronology, topic and methodology. There was a total of 8 academic categories for topics.

본 연구는 한국어교육 분야에서 수행된 한국문화교육 연구를 분석 대상으로 선정하여 한국문화교육 연구 동향을 분석한 것이다.
한국어교육 분야에서 수행된 한국문화교육 관련 연구들을 분석 대상으로 삼아 이 연구들에 대한 동향을 살펴봄으로써 한국문화교육의 실제를 반성하고 한국문화교육이 학문적 발전을 위해 연구가 갖추어야 할 측면들을 살펴보고자 한 것이다. 이 연구에서는 1980년대 이후 국내 대학원에서 학위논문으로 발표된 한국문화교육관련 석사, 박사학위 논문과 한국어교육관련 학술지로서 심사학술지에 해당하는 학술지 게재 논문들을 분석 대상으로 하였다. 본 연구에서 수집하여 분석한 분석대상 논문은 419개이고 연대, 주제, 방법론 측면에서 분석되었다. 이들은 주제별로 총 8개의 학문적 범주로 구분된다.
