The purpose of the research was to analyze current problems and solutions in teacher education system for effective inclusive education of children with disabilities. Additionally, the study identified practical possibilities in the application of the Problem-Based Learning(PBL) as a new trend of teacher education. The study investigated the potentials of PBL with respect to the Constructivist approach and analyzed the practical strategies of applying PBL in the teacher education for effective inclusive education. The results of the study reveal the practical issues of applying PBL in the teacher education for inclusion of children with disabilities as follows: developing a PBL curriculum for inclusive education, controlling and organizing problems, using current technologies for effective interaction, improving competencies of tutors, and changing teacher education policy and perceptions of PBL. Implications and recommendations for future directions based on the results were suggested.

이 논문에서는 장애아동 통합교육이 효과적으로 이루어지기 위해 기존의 교사교육이 어떻게 변화되어야 하는지를 탐색하고, 장애아동 통합교육을 위한 대안적 교사교육 방안으로서 문제중심학습(PBL)의 적용을 중심으로 그 가능성을 고찰해 보았다. 이에 현재 통합교육을 위한 일반교사 및 특수교사의 양성교육과 교원연수의 문제점, 그리고 이에 대한 교사교육의 개선 방향에 대해 살펴보았다. 또한 구성주의 원리를 기반으로 하는 문제중심학습의 실제적 적용에 대해 논의해 보고, 이것이 통합교육을 위한 교사교육에 어떻게 적용될 수 있는 지를 탐색해 보았다. 앞으로 문제중심학습이 성공적으로 실천되기 위해 해결해야 할 과제로 특수교사 및 일반교사를 위한 통합교육 PBL 교육과정 개발, 교사의 요구에 따른 문제의 조절과 구조화, 테크놀로지 활용, 튜터의 역량 개발, 교사교육 제도 및 인식의 변화를 제시하였다.
