The light in our lives has been recognized as very important things to represent the form of light, as well as human emotions through art that affect has been used as a symbolic tool. A new beginning in symbolic interpretations of the light began with a malerisch style called Tenebrism which was characteristic of the Baroque period. The creative reproduction and application of this technique suggests various interpretations and interesting aspects as the inner meaning of light changes with time. In today's world, the reappearance of tenebrism that is applied in movie posters, among other visual artworks, has enabled extreme expressions through the development of digital technology. Yet, this does not mean that tenebrism aims to achieve religious persuasion through integration of classical artistry and modern technology, nor does it express the marvels of the gods. Rather, tenebrism delivers instant visual explicitness and the film's intentions in a very accurate manner to the audience. The changing meaning of light with changes in time is recognized as a formative element, while the potentials of the light itself are also acknowledged in its importance. Moreover, the light emphasizes its symbolic role and significance as it allows close and dynamic communication in contemporary design.

우리 삶 속에서 빛은 매우 중요한 요소로 인식되어져 왔으며 사물을 비추어 형태를 나타내기 위한 기능뿐 아니라 예술을 통해 인간의 감성에 영향을 미치는 상징적 도구로서 사용되어 왔다. 이러한 빛에 대한 상징적 도구로서 새로운 해석의 시작은 바로크 시대 표현기법인 테네브리즘의 회화적 표현에서 출발했다고 볼 수 있다. 이것의 창조적 재현과 응용은 빛의 내면적 의미가 시대에 따라 변화됨에 따라 다양한 해석의 재미와 열린 감성을 제시하고 있다. 오늘날 시각예술 중 영화포스터에 표현되는 테네브리즘 기법의 재현은 디지털 기술의 발달을 통해 보다 극단적인 표현이 가능해져 다양한 해석을 제시하고 있다. 그것의 의미전달의 목적은 고전적 예술성과 현대적 기술의 결합을 통한 종교적 설득이나 신에 대한 경이로움을 표현함이 아닌 수용자에게 단시간 시각적 명쾌함과 영화가 계획된 의도를 정확하게 전달함에 있다고 본다. 이것이 가능하게 된 것은 시대에 따라 변화되고 있는 빛의 의미가 빛 자체를 독립된 조형요소로서 인정하고 자체가 가진 본질에 대한 잠재성을 중요하게 여기고 있기 때문이다. 또한 본 연구를 통해 현대 디자인에 있어 유기적이고 동적인 상호소통을 가능하게 하는 상징적 요소로서 빛의 역할과 중요성을 강조하는 바이다.
