This paper will make a general survey about the old novels(Gososeol) which the Suncheon's Ppurigibeunnamu museum's possesses. Secondly, it will introduce the newly found exclusive novel with significant materials, then will suggest the list of the materials in this museum. The old novels(Gososeol) collected by Mr. Han, Changgi is approximately five hundreds twenty ones categorized into one hundred seven types. The fact that most parts of this collection consist of old novels(Gososeol) written in Hangul is the most significant characteristic of this collection. It contains various kinds of Korean novels covering a kind of Long Family Novel, Kyongpan(京板)․Wanpan(完板), block printed novels, Chinese novels translated into Hangul and old novels by typography. Therefore, Mr. Han, Changgi seems to have collected the materials intensively, considering the way of circulation of the novels written in Hangul and the reading style of them. Above all, the Kyongpan(京板) block printed novel, wooden Printing Blocks(冊版) of wolwangjeon is the most valuable one in this museum which has been known as being lost. Among these novels, the exclusive ones are gibonghoeyonrok, dangbaekam,sessiyukmyunghanggljelrok. At fist, this paper will deal with dangbaekam. This novel may be not estimated high in an aesthetic value when it comes to it's starting without the birth story of protagonist unlike the general narrative style of an old novel(Gososeol) and to the lack of events triggering the tension of inner text. Also, judging from the year of description and the situation of circulation of the novel, it seems to have been made lately. Through such a series of works, the overall things about these novels collected in Mr. Han, Changgi's living years and the status and the value of the exclusive novel and all that sort of things have been revealed. In the future, there will be more specific discussions on his materials in Suncheon's Ppurigibeunnamu museum by the follow-up studies.

이 논문은 ‘순천시립 뿌리 깊은 나무 박물관’에 수장(收藏)된 고소설을 개관하고, 새로 발굴한 유일본 소설과 의미 있는 자료들을 소개하며, 이곳의 소장된 전체 고소설의 목록(目錄)을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 한창기 선생이 수집한 고소설은 총 107종 520여(동종 작품 포함) 작품이다. 이 컬렉션의 가장 큰 특징은 한글 고소설이 대다수를 차지한다는 점이다. 컬렉션은 장편가문소설류에서부터, 경판(京板)․완판(完板) 방각본소설, 중국소설의 번역본, 활판본 고소설까지 다양하다. 이를 통해서 한창기 선생은 ‘한글 고소설이 어떻게 유통되고 읽혔는가’를 염두에 두면서 자료들을 집중적으로 수집한 것으로 보인다. 그리고 이곳에 소장된 자료 중에서 무엇보다 가치 있는 것은 일실(逸失) 되었다고 알려진 경판 방각본 소설 󰡔월왕전󰡕의 책판(冊版)과 유일본 소설들이다. 책판을 통하여 경판 방각본 소설의 출판 과정을 구체적으로 규명할 수 있다는 점에서 대단히 중요하다. 그리고 이곳에 소장된 유일본 소설은 󰡔기봉회연록󰡕, 󰡔당백암󰡕, 󰡔서씨육여명행기절록󰡕 3종이다. 이 중에서 이 논문에서 살펴본 것은 󰡔당백암󰡕이었다. 이 소설은 고소설의 일반적인 서사문법과는 달리 서사주인공의 출생담이 작품 서두에 나타나지 않는다는 점, 작품내적 긴장 관계를 불러일으킬 만한 서사사건의 결여되어 있다. 이러한 점 등을 두루 고려할 때, 작품의 미적 가치는 높다고 할 수 없다. 아울러 작품의 필사기와 작품의 유통 상황 등을 볼 때, 작품의 생성 시기는 최근일 것으로 보인다. 이러한 일련의 논의를 통해서 한창기 선생이 생전에 수집했던 고소설의 전반적인 사항, 유일본 소설의 위상과 가치, 기타 자료의 의미 등을 확인했다. 앞으로 후속 연구를 통해서 그가 수집했던 자료들의 구체적인 연구가 이루어지길 바란다.
