오늘날 인간은 과거에 비해 훨씬 복잡하고 다양한 스트레스를 유발하는 현대 사회 속에서 살아가고 있다. 이러한 삶이 중독을 조장한다 해도 과언이 아니다. 현대인들은 끊임었이 경험해야 하는 스트레스로 인한 현실의 고통을 회피하기 위해 중독의 대상을 찾게 된다. 도박, 알코올, 게임 등 중독의 유형은 현대사회가 발전함에 따라 새롭게 다양한 형태와 질적 그리고 양적인 발전을 보이고 있다. 중독은 처음에는 쾌락을 주거나 고통 혹은 스트레스를 완화해 주는 긍정적인 경험에서 시작된다. 또한 중독행동에 과도하게 탐닉하게 됨에 따라 시간이나 경제적인 균형이 깨지게 되고 이로 인한 역기능이 초래된다. 특히 여러 행위중독 중에서도 유흥중독과 관련된 문제와 심각성에 대한 연구는 부재이다. 이에 이 연구에서는 행위중독의 일종인 유흥중독의 개념과 범죄와의 연관성을 설명하고 중독으로 들어서게 되는 배경을 분석하고자 한다. 유흥에 대해서는 풍속영업의 규제에 관한 법률을 배경으로 노래방, 노래연습장, 노래장 등과 같이 2종 영업장을 중심으로 하고자 한다.
