Utilizing a sample of 455 American firms coming from the ALMANAC Data Base, this study examines a comparison of the relationship between the profitability and size of firms in high and low tech industries. The results demonstrate that profitability difference between high and low tech firms in any firm size can not be found. ROS of high and low tech firms formed a U-Shape according to an increment of firm size, while ROA has mixed results.

ALMANAC의 455 기업 Data를 이용해 본 연구는 미국 high tech and low tech 산업에 기업의 수익성과 규모와의 관계를 비교 검토한다. 결과는 어떤 기업규모에서도 high tech와 low tech 기업 사이에 수익성 차이는 발견되지 않는다. 또한 수익성에 있어 high tech 와 low tech 기업에 있어 기업규모의 증가에 따라 ROS는 U형태를 나타낸 반면, ROA는 혼합된 결과를 보여 준다. 이러한 결과는 학계와 산업계에 High tech 와 Low tech의 수익성과 규모에 대한 정보를 마련한다.
