This study discusses the current status of the Chinese language and culture course in Korea. The part of curriculum be classified into four groups, which are Language, Linguistics, Literature and Area Studies. Other three parts than the Language is regarded as the Cultural. This study organizes research materials on the educational goals, curriculum and the faculty of each department. This data was collected from websites which are one hundred seventeen china-related departments of the four-year-course colleges. In the curriculum of China-related departments, it is more emphasis on Language subjects than Area Studies subjects. And there is an inclination to treat Linguistics and Literature as a less important subject. In the faculty of China-related departments, there are many Literature majors more than Linguistics majors. Area Studies field has the lowest number of majors. In these days China, that has the potential strength, is on the rise to the real power in the world. Thus, practical studies in China-related education are more required than in the past. At present, in the goals and methods of China-related education, through a combination of a pure science and practical studies, the human science and social science elements, human-social science approaches have emerged.

본고는 교육과정의 교과목을 언어영역․어학영역․문학영역․지역학영역으로 구분하고, 언어영역 이외의 어학영역․문학영역․지역학영역을 문화의 영역으로 고려하며, 현재 한국에 서 실시되고 있는 중국 언어․문화의 교육과정에 관한 현황을 파악하는 데 주안점으로 둔다. 본고는 인터넷 상에 탑재된 전국 4년제 대학의 117개 중국 관련 학과 홈페이지를 대상으로 관련 자료를 검색하여, 중국 관련 학과를 개설한 대학․학부․학과의 현황, 교육목적, 교육과 정, 교수진 등에 관한 정보를 입수하였다. 중국 관련 언어․문화의 교육과정에서, 언어영역의 교과목이 가장 일차적인 것으로 간주되 고, 그 다음으로 지역학영역의 교과목이 중시되며, 문학영역과 어학영역의 교과목은 가장 적 다. 또한 중국 관련 언어․문화의 교육과정에서, 문학전공자가 대세이고, 그 다음으로 어학전 공자이며, 지역학전공자의 역할은 아직 미약하다. 당대 중국이 세계적으로 그리고 우리에게 잠재적 저력으로 현실적인 실세로 나타나기 시 작하면서, 실용학문성이 요구되었다. 현재 중국 관련 교육은 순수학문과 실용학문, 인문과학 적 요소와 사회과학적 요서의 양자 결합을 통해, 중국 관련 교육의 목적․방법에서 인문-사회 과학적 접근법이 대두하고 있다.
