This paper aims to approach Jeong Du-Gyeong(鄭斗卿)’s companionship and friendship poetry. Although he was a famous poet in the 17th century, his companionship has not been identified specifically. Moreover his poems witch exchange with others have not attracted public attention despite of lots of the work. His ancestors got along well with prominent figures of the time with their great ability and liberal ideas. He followed in his ancestors footsteps and established a closer relationship with them naturally. Furthermore he had a large network of relationships regardless of social classes or ideas. In his youth, he was taught by Lee Hang-Bok(李恒福) and could socialize with outstanding personalities of his time. His social intercourse is characterized by ‘a long-standing friendship between families’ and ‘extension’. In other words, he made relationships through traditional friendship between families or the extension of relationship into his friends’ family. His attitude of personal relationships is divided into two parts: seriousness and humor. He seriously advised his friends to lead from the front in spite of the harsh realities. On the other hand, he made humorous expressions in his poems which gave friends. The double-sidedness of his social intercourse is one of the reasons that he could have a large network of relationships.

본고는 鄭斗卿(1597-1673)의 교유관계와 교유시를 살핀 것이다. 17세기 문단에서 정두경이 차지하는 위상에도 불구하고 아직 그의 교유관계는 전체적인 소개가 이루어지지 않았으며, 정두경 시의 상당수를 차지하는 교유시 역시 주목받지 못했다는 점에서 연구의 필요성이 있다고 보았다. 정두경의 집안 선조들은 대대로 우수한 재능과 개방적 사상을 바탕으로 유명 문사들과 어울렸다. 정두경은 이를 이어받아 선조들이 교유한 유명 문사들 대부분과 사우관계를 맺었을 뿐 아니라, 다양한 계층 및 사상을 지닌 인물들과 폭넓은 인간관계를 형성하였다. 또 그는 유년시절 이항복의 문하에 참여하면서 당대 최고의 서인계 문사들과 어울릴 수 있었고, 武人 및 文武를 겸한 인물들과도 교유할 수 있었다. 이후에도 그는 삶의 변화과정에서 많은 사람들을 만나며 교유의 폭을 더욱 넓혀갔다. 이 과정에서 그는 계층·사상·문무인 뿐 아니라 당파에도 구애됨 없는 교유를 형성하고 있었다. 그런데 이러한 그의 교유는 ‘通家’와 ‘확장’이라는 성격을 지니고 있었다. 즉 집안 간 世交를 형성하거나, 누군가를 알면 그의 형제·부자를 비롯하여 그 후손들과도 계속 교유를 이어갔다. 이런 교유방식은 재능의 우수성과 개방적 사상을 넘어서서 개인 성격과 기질에서 연유하는 면도 있는 것이므로, 교유시를 통해서 이를 확인해보았다. 그 결과 정두경은 對人 태도에 있어서 진지한 면모와 유희적 면모의 양면성을 지니고 있었다. 그는 17세기의 혼란한 현실 속에서도 그의 벗들에게 항상 적극적으로 대응할 것을 권유하고 있었으며, 다른 한편으로는 유희적 기질을 바탕으로 여러 상황 속에서 웃음을 만들어내고 있었다. 이러한 양면성은 그가 다양한 사람들과 폭넓은 교유를 맺을 수 있었던 또 하나의 배경이라고 할 수 있다.
