Document Examination Standards are the most basic factor for standardized trade. In article 14 UCP 600, according to document trade, inspection of the bank, inspecting authority is made inspection of documents presented by established to offer clients as professional inspection organization. With recent development of e-trade and transportation, trade practice has been perceived as a crisis according to trade of traditional credits as follows: First, e-trade's function as traditional settlement means of trade is weakening due to e-credit trade. Second, according to the first documents presented rejection rate is increasing due to credit trade. Third, commission of banks in credits can not have advantages in price competitiveness. Due to such environmental factors, UCP has been revised six times. Therefore, e-documents can be examined quickly with uses of alternatives based on ISBP and ISP 98 according to each section in the article 14 of UCP 600 which is a means to reduce clients' burden to present e-documents and to have more practical credits through efficient and elastic interpretation of e-documents in credits.

무역서류심사의 기준은 정형화된 무역거래를 수행하기 위한 가장 기본적인 요인이라고 볼 수 있다. UCP 600 제14조에서 서류거래에 따른 심사기관인 은행의 심사는 전문심사기관으로 개설의뢰인이 제공하는 제시서류의 심사가 이루어진다. 최근에 전자무역과 운송수단의 발전에 따른 전통적인 신용장거래에 따른 무역거래 관행이 위기로 인식되는 이유로는 첫째, 전자신용장거래에 의한 전통적인 무역의 결제수단 기능이 약화되고 있는 점이다. 둘째, 신용장거래에 의한 최초의 서류 제시에 따른 거절율이 점점 높다는 것이다. 셋째, 신용장거래에 따른 은행 수수료부담은 제품의 가격경쟁력에서 우위를 점할 수 없다는 것이다. 이러한 환경적인 요인에 의해 UCP개정이 6차에 걸쳐 이루어졌다. 따라서 신용장거래의 필수적인 서류제시에 따른 효율적이고 탄력적인 해석에 의하여 개설의뢰인의 서류제시 부담을 줄이고, 보다 현실적인 신용장 거래를 수행할 수 있도록 하기 위한 방안으로 UCP 600 제14조 각항을 중심으로 한 내용의 문제제기에 따른 해석과 ISBP와 ISP 98에 의거한 대안을 제시함으로써 신속한 서류심사가 이루어질 수 있을 것으로 보인다.
