The Export Insurance Act abolished and Trade Insurance Act effect on 1. July 2010. The renaming and change the goal of act, definition clause and expansion of business scope of Korea Trade Insurance Cooperation on the Trade Insurance Act reflects of the changing environment of international trade market. New governance of the KTIC leave room for question. An attempt to establish Trade Insurance Fund went in vain in the face of conservative banks. But there has been improvement to enhance the financial stability of trade insurance system. Recently amendment not sufficient to enhance the alternative dispute resolution system and the problem of the market entry of private insurance company remains as a huge problem that we must solve in the future.

2010년 7월 1일 수출보험법을 대치한 무역보험법이 발효되는 것을 계기로 한국수출보험공사도 한국무역보험공사로 바뀌게 되었다. 본고는 이를 계기로 몇 가지 법적 주제를 살펴보았다. 법률명의변경, 목적과정의조항의개정, 한국무역보험공사의 업무 범위확대등 총칙 조항은 무역보험 시장의 환경변화를 반영한 것으로 적절한 것으로 본다. 한국무역보험공사의 지배구조면에서는 다소의문이 있다. 이번개정에서 시도 되었던 무역보험기금제도의 도입은 은행이 반대로 이루어 지지 않았지만 무역보험재정의 안정성 확보에 약간의 개선은 있었다. 무역보험의 성격상 대체적 분쟁해결제도를 강화하는 것이 필요하고, 변화하는 무역보험의 환경속애서 민영보험사업자의 시장 참입문제도 앞으로의 큰 과제로 남아 있다.
