This paper examines whether or not export insurance provided by the British government has promoted export supply of Britain. The role of transaction cost in administering the system is considered in the current analysis. The unit root tests show that all concerned variables are integrated of order one, while they are revealed to be not cointegrated. The empirical evidence using the first differenced data shows that the provision of export insurance by the government does not have a significant effect on increasing export supply of Britain.

이 논문은 영국정부에 의해 제공되어 온 수출보험제도가 영국의 수출공급을 실제 증진시켜왔는지를 점검한다. 분석에서는 수출보험제도 운영에 있어서 거래비용의 역할이 고려된다. 단위근검증결과 모든 관련된 변수들은 1차 적분되어 있으며, 공적분관계는 없는 것으로 나타난다. 1차차분된 자료들을 사용한 경험적 연구결과, 영국의 수출보험제도의 경우 영국의 수출공급을 증가시키는 데에 유의미한 영향을 보이지 않았던 것으로 보인다.
