The purpose of this study was to investigate the trends of research in music therapy through the analysis of theses from 2001 to 2010, and to make some directions for the future development of music therapy research in Korea. The theses used in this study include theses of master’s and doctora’s degree, total of 961 and were divided by degree, major, and background of the researchers, subjects of the theses, methods and contents of the researches. The results of the analyses were listed as follows. First, degree of theses were divided as follows; 33 doctoral’s degrees and 928 master’s degrees. Those of all, there were 545 music therapy major’s theses and 416 of others. Second, subjects used in the theses were divided as follows; 374 disabilities, 465 non-disabilities, 60 patients and 62 others. Third, targeted research methods were divided as follows; 786 quantitative research methods, 102 literature research methods, 14 qualitative research methods and 59 quantitative-qualitative mixed research methods. Fourth, the field of emotion was the highest(40.8%) in the research contents.

이 연구는 2001년부터 2010년까지 음악치료 관련 학위논문을 조사ㆍ분석하여 연구의 흐름을 알아보고 이를 통해 향후 음악치료 발전을 위한 방향을 모색하고자 한 것이다. 분석대상 논문은 석ㆍ박사 학위논문 총 961편이며, 연구자의 학위와 배경, 연구대상, 연구방법, 연구내용으로 나누어 분석하였다. 분석결과 첫째, 박사학위논문은 33편, 석사학위논문은 928편이었고, 음악치료 전공자의 논문은 545편, 기타 전공자의 논문은 416편이었다. 둘째, 연구된 대상은 장애대상은 374편, 비장애대상 465편, 환자대상 60편, 기타 62편이었다. 셋째, 연구방법은 양적연구가 786편으로 가장 많았고, 문헌연구 102편, 질적연구 14편, 양적ㆍ질적 병행연구 59편이었다. 넷째, 연구내용에 있어서는 정서영역(40.8%)이 가장 많았다. 이를 중심으로 음악치료 발전을 위한 방향이 토의되었다.
