This study examines the situation of Korea gambling addiction through case analysis and related statistics.
The reason and situation of gambling addiction through case analysis are as follows.
A category that can explain the reason of gambling addiction could be classified into personal and social factors.
First of all, the reason of gambling addiction is divided into gambling addiction type from biased way of thinking such as 'get rich quick fever' or a means for escape from stress.
Secondly, as social factors we analyze the seriousness of gambling addiction by classifying to two kind of category. People are addicted to gambling because of a sense of alienation and isolation from family and society. The other reason of this addiction is a result of weakening control of government and social institution.
In this study we suggested political counterplan as an effective plan for gambling addiction through above analysis.
Firstly, we should improve various policies and strengthen will of intervention about
gambling addiction.
Secondly, it need going side by side not temporary remedy but care and control as the case of gambling addict by stages for solving this addiction.
Thirdly, we have to make it easy for gambling addict to be treated visiting regional center by forming an organic network through connection with social cooperation.
At last, what is the most important is realizing the danger of gambling addiction by recognizing the adverse and harmful effect on speculative industry and gambling.
For solving this problem it is needed to promote, educate and improve about gambling addiction.

본 연구에서는 우리나라의 도박중독의 실태를 사례분석과 관련 통계를 중심으로 살펴보았다. 사례분석을 통한 도박중독의 원인과 실태를 살펴보면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 개인적 요인으로 도박중독의 원인을 '한탕주의와 본전주의' 등의 편향된 사고방식에서 비롯된 도박중독 유형, 스트레스로 인한 탈출구의 수단으로서의 도박중독 유형으로 구분하였고 둘째, 사회적 요인으로는 가족, 사회로부터의 소외 및 격리로 인한 도박중독의 유형, 국가 및 사회기관의 통제 약화로 인한 도박중독의 유형 등의 두 가지로 범주로 나누어 유형화 하여 도박중독의 심각성을 분석하였다.
이러한 분석을 통하여 본 연구에서는 도박중독의 효과적인 대응 방안으로 다음과 같은 정책적 대안을 제시하였다.
첫째, 국가의 법·제도적인 정비와 도박중독자에 대한 개입의지를 강화 시켜야 하며, 둘째, 도박중독 해결을 위한 일시적인 치료가 아닌 도박중독자의 상태에 따른 단계별 치료와 관리가 병행되어야 한다. 셋째, 각 사회가관의 연계를 통한 유기적인 네트워크를 형성하여 도박중독자들이 쉽게 지역센터를 찾아 치료받을 수 있게 해야 한다. 마지막으로 무엇보다 사행산업과 도박중독에 대한 역기능과 폐해를 인식하여 도박중독의 위험을 깨닫는 것이 중요하다고 보여진다. 이를 위해서는 도박중독에 대한 홍보와 교육 및 인식개선 사업이 필
요 할 것이다.
