The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of learning styles and media environments on the non-real-time online discussion by pre-service teachers. For this purpose, 61 pre-service teachers were divided into 2 groups: the facebook group and the online board group. Also, a learning styles survey was administered to find out their learning styles. The results of the study indicated that the facebook group produced more discussion messages than the online board group. According to learning styles, those belonging to sensing learners produced more discussion messages than those belonging to intuitive learners. It was also found that in terms of social and interactive dimensions, the facebook group produced more messages while in terms of the cognitive dimension, the online board group produced more messages. Besides, it was found that in terms of the metacognitive dimension, those belonging to global learners produced more messages on facebook while those belonging to sequential learners produced more messages on the online discussion board.

본 연구에서는 예비교사들의 문자 기반의 의사소통능력을 길러주기 위한 방안의 하나로 비실시간 온라인 토론학습을 실시해보았다. 구체적으로는, 예비교사들의 개인적인 학습양식과 온라인 매체환경에 따라 이들의 상호작용 양상이 어떻게 차이가 나는지를 분석해보았다. 연구 결과, 페이스북 환경에서 진행된 토론의 게시물 수가 온라인 게시판에서 이루어진 토론 게시물 수보다 유의하게 많은 것으로 나타났다. 학습양식에 따른 게시물 수의 유의한 차이는 감각 대 직관 학습자들 사이에서만 나타났다. 즉, 감각적 학습자들이 직관적 학습자들에 비해 더 많은 글을 게시한 것으로 나타났다. 메시지 유형과 관련해서는 페이스북 환경에서는 사회적, 그리고 상호작용적 메시지가, 온라인 게시판 환경에서는 인지적 메시지가 더 많이 산출되었다. 또한, 페이스북에서는 총체적 학습자들이, 온라인 게시판에서는 순차적 학습자들이 더 많은 메타인지적 내용의 메시지를 게시한 것으로 나타났다.
