The purpose of this research is to investigate how sports are broadcasted in terms of narrative structure. Especially the researcher analyzed broadcast in Shooting & Gymnastics sport. It is also aimed to provide an opportunity to set the indicator to which direction sports broadcast is moving in future. Thus the researcher analyzed the broadcast in final rounds of two male events which Korea first won silver medals at 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. The record’s analysis was made by dividing into three categories; plot, image and narration. Based upon the Todorov’s Theory(balance→imbalance→re-balance), a representative model of epic for the analysis of plot, three categories were analyzed. In conclusion, sport TV broadcast is the program showing reality to the viewer as it is in a correct way. Normally viewers watch these programs by image(screen) and listen to the voice of narrator and/or commentator. However, the viewers accept it as a story, and are easily absorbed into the program through the narrative mode like in drama. In addition, enhancement in sports speciality and systematic research regarding contents configuration are required for the better broadcast production in sports. The configuration in sports broadcast is to be real, up-to-date and interesting together with its professionalism and conciseness to provide viewers with great interest and deep impression.
