In this study, representative tools with the function drawing up a document among CASE tools for application development, widely known and being used in many ways have been compared through tests to find out if there is compound document supporting technology of a container function and a server function. As a result of comparison, CASE tools support a container and a server partially and, if equipped with all of the container and the server for compound document which is a strong documentation function, can be more powerful tools.

본 연구에서는 현재 많이 알려져 있고 많이 활용되는 어플리케이션 개발을 위한 CASE 도구 중 문서작성기능이 있는 대표적인 도구를 테스트를 통해서 복합문서지원 기술 즉 컨테이너 기능과 서버기능의 지원이 가능한지에 대하여 비교하였다. 비교결과 대부분의 CASE 도구가 컨테이너 기능과 서버 기능을 일부분 지원하였으며, 강력한 문서화 기능인 복합문서작성을 위한 컨테이너 기능과 서버기능을 다 갖춘다면 보다 강력한 CASE 도구가 될 수 있을 것이다.
