The Purpose of the study aims to develop self-esteem scale for children lacking language skill and foreigners. The study involved 161 subjects under the age of 70 living in Seoul, Gyunggi Province and Jeolla Province, all of whom took both self-portrait drawing test and Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale(RSES). In addition, the study utilized DAP analysis criteria to apply grading system to self-portrait assessment. In order to identify reliability of self-portrait drawing test, the study calculated Cronbach’s α. The study also conducted criterion-related validity to analyze correlation of self-portrait drawing scale with RSES.
The result is firstly, it turned out that self-portrait drawing test is reliable considering both relatively high confidence coefficient and interrater reliability. secondly, the self-portrait drawing test proved to have significant correlation with RSES, demonstrating validity.
In conclusion, the self-portrait drawing test developed by the study is expected to be used as proven art therapy evaluation tool targeting pre-schoolers, elementary school children under the age of 10 and people with difficulty speaking Korean such as foreign workers and immigrants married to Korean spouse.

본 연구의 목적은 언어적 표현 능력이 미숙한 아동과 외국인의 자아존중감을 측정하기 위한
새로운 미술치료 평가 도구를 개발하고자 하였다.
연구의 대상자는 서울 및 경기도, 전라도 지역에 거주하는 만 70세 이하의 남녀 160명로 자화상 그림 검사와 자아존중감 질문지 검사(Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale : RSES)를 실시하였다.
자화상 그림 검사의 신뢰도를 알아보기 위해 내적 합치도 Cronbach ‘s α를 산출하였으며, 타당도를 알아보기 위하여 기준상관 타당도를 실시하여 자화상 그림 검사와 자아존중감(RSES)의 상관관계분석을 실시하였다.
본 연구의 결과는 첫째, 자화상 그림 검사는 신뢰계수가 대체적으로 높고 평가자간 신뢰도가 높아 신뢰할 만한 수준으로 나타났다. 둘째, 자화상 그림 검사와 자아존중감(RSES)간에는 유의미한 정적 상관관계를 보여 타당도를 입증하였다.
본 연구의 결론은 개발한 자화상 그림 검사는 신뢰도와 타당도를 입증한 미술치료 평가 도구로서 취학 전 아동과 초등학교 저학년 아동, 외국인 근로자와 결혼 이주민 등 언어적 해석이 미숙하거나 언어적 표현에 어려움을 겪는 사람들을 대상으로 이들의 자아존중감을 파악하는데 활용 될 것으로 기대된다.
