The purpose of this study is to present strategies and language expressions of counterargument for Korean learners. The debate has been studied to help Korean advanced learners to improve their speaking ability. And many studies present strategies and language expressions of debate in the class for the academic purpose.
Despite of many related studies, counterargument has received little attention. The counterargument is essential for the debate and it could be threatening to both debaters because they frequently deliver different opinions. In that sense, this study analyzes real debates and presents strategies and language expressions of counterargument to teach korean learners to deliver their opposite opinions efficiently and politely.
