Thesis study focuses on the pre-modern history in Korea which was changed into the authorized textbook from 2011. Based on this content, I analyzed the composition and supplement about textbooks and thoroughly thought the characteristics and problems. The conclusions of the analysis are the following ones: First, according to the principle that is able to give various kinds of contents without the limit of content, the writers making the Korean history textbook can have much greater autonomy. Because of such things, they can manage even more contents and learning materials than the existing ones. Second, It is specified in the revised curriculum that Korean history textbook in high school concentrates upon the modern and contemporary history and just briefly describe the pre-modern history. However, students have to learn more learning things for such a big problem. Third, analyzing the sequence of learning materials, I know that there is a huge overlap between middle school? contents and high school? ones. I eagerly hope that the analysis which I previously mentioned helps to make much easier and more interesting textbooks and then the learning materials what students have to work and study will be getting less.

본고는 2011년부터 검정체제로 전환된『한국사』교과서 전근대사 부분에 초점을 맞추어 교과서의 구성체제와 학습자료에 대해 분석하여 그 특징과 문제점을 고찰하였다. 분석결과 나타난 시사점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 『한국사』교과서는 개정 교육과정 대강화의 원리에 따라 집필자의 자율성이 증대되었다. 따라서 기존 교과서에 비해 좀 더 특색있고 다양한 교과서 구성체제와 학습자료를 갖추게 되었다. 둘째, 개정 교육과정에서는 고등학교 한국사 과목은 근현대사를 중심으로 하고 전근대사는 흐름만 간략하게 서술하도록 명시하였다. 하지만 실제 개발된 교과서는 전근대사의 내용 요소를 정선하지 않은 채 압축적으로 서술함으로써 오히려 종전보다 학습량이 늘어났다. 셋째, 학습자료의 계열성을 분석한 결과, 중·고등 간 학습자료의 중복이 심한 점 또한 학습량을 늘리는 요인이 되었다. 이상의 분석에서 시사하는 바가 차후 학생들의 학습부담은 줄이면서도 좀 더 다양성을 갖춘 교과서 개발에 참고가 되기를 바란다.
