This study was carried out to understand the characteristics of landslide in urban forests, Seoul city. The results showed that there were a diverse range of indications of such as C type (Linear depression) and B type (cracks and shelly facies) and not the difference of landslide by the slope direction generally. The characteristics of landslide in urban forests were the heavy rainfall, and then the region of landslide in urban forests need to structural measurement such as the erosion control dam and check dam for the prevention of landslide.
Also, it is necessary to the permanent measures by the analysis of dangerous regions in urban forests because the region can be liable to occur the landslide by the construction of houses and buildings during the heavy rainfall events.

2010년 서울시 지역에서 발생한 산사태지의 발생실태를 조사․분석한 결과, 산사태 붕괴형태는 C형(선상)과 B형(패각상)이 많았으며, 전체적으로 사면방위에 따른 발생개소수의 차이는 나타나지 않았다. 2010년 서울시의 산사태 특성은 정체된 강우에 따라 산사태 및 토석류가 발생한 것으로 판단되며, 이에 따라 사방댐이나 골막이와 같은 산사태 예방을 위한 구조물적인 대책이 절실히 요구된다. 집중호우현상이 증가되는 상황에서 도심지역의 주택 및 건축물 축설과정의 급경사지 비탈면 절취로 인한 피해가 급증하는 추세이므로 도시지역의 위험지 일제 조사를 통해 항구대책을 마련할 필요가 있다고 판단된다.
