This study is focused on understanding the practicability of nail design in line with the trend and contributing to the nail design development by analyzing the 2011 S/S fashion color trend and applying that trend into nail color design. To this end, the 2011 S/S fashion color trend was first analyzed based on the relevant document and data, and then was applied on the square-off shaped nail to express french, gradation, and one-color nail design. As a result of this study, diverse types and colors of nail design that can meet the customers’ stylistic demand and taste have been successfully developed by applying the representative colors which were suggested under the latest trend concepts of ‘Future Classic,’ ‘Elegant Aesthetics,’ ‘Mysterious Daybreak,’ and ‘Impulse Creation’ through diverse expression methods. Such development is also expected to contribute to suggesting a direction of a new trend creation.
