In this paper the process of the revisions of Yeats's The Hour-Glass is traced to examine the development of Yeats's dramaturgy. Among many changes, two important changes are discussed: change of parts of the play into verse and removal of the Wise Man's kneeling before the Fool. The revisions show a significant growth in Yeats's stagecraft and the play has a universal appeal.
