Coal mining is essentially a typical labor in the North Korean industry. This study examined the mutual relation between North Korean literature and coal miners formed through coal mine poems which were poetized coal mine labor. North Korean coal mine poems has been divided in to 3 by subjects. They are the following: admiration of the leader, stimulation of increasing coal output, and formation of a coal mine labor hero. North Korea's coal mine poems were directly influenced by the theory of autonomous literary art. Through poems this study confirms that North Korea's coal mine poems portray labor in a positive way. Though there were influences from the art philosophy of socialism, the increasing production of coal output also formed an immediate connection to the industry's conditions. Furthermore the coal mine poems deal with the laborers' formation of class consciousness and labor's positive values and also because it takes notice of the coal output. Eventually, works on the awareness of laboring class were done for the enticement of labor force in the working field. The characteristics of North Korea's coal mine poetry exhibit religious faith poems rather than North Korean system's instrument of propaganda. North Korea's coal mine poems resolve problems such as poor surroundings of the coalface and labor pain through loyalty to the leader. Production work, loyalty to the leader and pleasure at work are bound together in the same axis in coal mine poems. This coal mine poems research hopes to help in understanding the viewpoints of North Korean literature towards the reality of labor.

탄광은 북한산업의 핵심이자 대표적 노동이다. 본고는 탄광노동을 시화한 탄광시를 통해 북한의 문학과 탄광노동자가 맺고 있는 상호 연관성을 살펴보았다. 북한 탄광시작품을 주제별 로 구분해본 바 크게 3가지였다. 탄광노동 현장의 당과 수령 예찬, 노동계급 의식화와 석탄증 산 독려, 사회주의적 낙관성과 탄광노동영웅의 형상화 등이다. 북한 탄광시는 주체문예이론의 직접적인 영향을 받았다. 시를 통해 확인한 것은 북한 탄광 시가 노동을 긍정적으로 그린다는 점이다. 사회주의 예술론 영향도 있겠지만, 석탄증산이 시 급한 산업적 상황과 관련을 맺는다. 탄광시가 노동자의 계급의식 형상화와 노동의 긍정적 가 치를 다루면서도 석탄생산량에 주목하기 때문이다. 결국 노동계급의 의식화 작업은 노동현장 의 인력 유인을 위한 일이기도 한 셈이다. 북한 탄광시는 체제의 선전 도구적 활용 외에도 종교 신앙시 같은 특성을 보인다. 북한 탄 광시는 탄광막장의 열악한 환경이나, 노동의 고통까지 당과 수령에 대한 충성으로 해결한다. 탄광시작품 속에는 생산 작업, 수령에 대한 충성, 노동의 즐거움이 하나의 축으로 묶여 있었 다. 탄광시 연구가 노동현실을 대하는 북한문학의 관점을 이해하는 데 도움 되기를 기대한다.
