The purpose of this study is to clarify the effects of parent educational supporting activities, have on older elementary school students when it comes to learning motivation and study habit.
In order to answer these research questions 540 students and their parents were surveyed from an elementary school in Cheongju City, Chungcheongbuk-do. The data collected from this research was analyzed using the SPSS 19.0 program. The research results that were found are as follows:
First, there is a significant correlation between parent educational supporting activities and learning motivation of older elementary school students. Overall parents who supported educational activities had the highest effect on learning motivation, The supporting of home-based education activities, and the psychological education activities of the sub-region showed relatively significant effects.
Second, there is also a significant correlation between parent's educational supporting activities and study habit of older elementary school students. Overall parent educational supporting activities, The home-based supporting of education activities, and the psychological supporting of educational activities of the sub-region had effects on study habit. Being concerned, motivating, controlling of life and times, providing cultural experiences, creating learning environment, collecting the information in the components were in order.
The following conclusions can be reached based upon the above results. We have known that parent educational supporting activities affected the learning motivation and study habit of elementary school students. The function of education should be minimized by differences in the participation of parent educational supporting activities according to socio-cultural background of parents. Seen as influential results in the psychological educational supporting activities, older elementary school students do their best when their parents are recognizing and praising them. Children's learning motivation and study habit can start from the parent's voicing a concern in their work. Parent educational supporting activities based on learning motivation and study habit is associated with a valid attitude in school. Therefore, the study results suggest the need of a strong connection between school and home education.

본 연구는 부모의 교육지원활동이 초등학교 고학년 학생의 학습동기 및 학습습관에 미치는 영향을 분석하는데 목적을 두었다.
연구 목적에 따라 결과를 살펴보면, 첫째, 부모의 교육지원활동과 초등학교 고학년 학생의 학습동기 간에는 유의미한 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 학습동기 전체에 유의미한 향력을 미치는 것은 부모의 교육지원활동 전체가 가장 높았고 다음은 하위 영역 중 가정 중심 교육지원활동과 심리적 교육지원활동 순으로 나타났다. 둘째, 부모의 교육지원활동과 초등학교 고학년 학생의 학습습관 간에도 유의미한 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다.
학습습관 전체에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것은 부모의 교육지원활동 전체와 하위 영역 중가정 중심 교육지원활동, 심리적 교육지원활동이었다.
연구 결과를 통해 부모의 교육지원활동 참여도가 초등학교 고학년 학생의 학습동기 및 습습관에 영향을 미치는 요인이라는 것을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 자녀의 학습동기와 학습습관은 부모의 관심을 통해 형성되고 지속된다고 볼 수 있다. 초등학생에게 학습동기 학습습관을 바탕으로 한 올바른 학교생활태도의 형성은 학업성취의 중요한 요인이며 이는 부모의 관심과 보살핌, 즉 교육지원활동을 바탕으로 한다. 따라서 본 연구결과는 초등학교와 가정간의 연계 교육이 필요함을 시사해 준다고 볼 수 있다.
