In this study, we are going to consider illumination plans according to the feature of space; patterns and characters by spaces. This study applies to welfare facilities for the old that have various service spaces such as residence, medical treatment, and leisure. we are going to search documents to consider welfare facilities for the old and general illumination. Indoor examination about space features and illumination environment of current welfare facilities for the old will precede the real experiment of illumination environment. Next, we are going to conduct a questionnaire survey of the old to find out how much they are aware of illumination. And then, with the experiment about the right luminous intensity and a mental value for four spaces classified by features, we are going to analyze and present the guide considering features by spaces of the welfare facilities for the old. The summary of this study is as follows. We are going to check the environment of the inner space, such as size, shape, and color of the space, as well as the environment of illumination, such as the position and the kind of a light source, and inner luminous intensity of real facilities. This is to grasp the actual condition of inner illumination environment of the welfare facilities for the old. For the experiment of the illumination environment plan for the welfare facilities for the old, we are going to make a experiment about illumination environment of sleeping rooms corridors and stairs, dining rooms and fluxing rooms Psychological test of recognizing environment by the position and the kind of a light source, as well as the height and right luminous intensity will be carried out. The experiment will be 2 steps; 1st step is to get the result of a testee's psychological test and to examine the test paper by analyzing the cause; step 2 is to let the testee find out the highest luminous intensity, right luminous intensity, and the lowest luminous intensity by operating an illuminator by himself.
