The subject of this study is adolescents who are attending middle or high schools, and this study tried to figure out the effect of stress which is recognized by adolescents on the adaptation to school life. And the objective of this study is to analyze the stress factors of adolescents to reduce the frequency of the stress, and to figure out the correlation between stress of adolescents and their adaptation to school life to help them successfully adapt to school life. To this purpose, the questionnaire study on 362 adolescents(male : 178, female: 184) who were living in Jeollabuk-do is done from July 11th, 2011 to September 14th, 2011, and the extracted data was analyzed statistically by the program of SPSS 11.5, and specifically, frequency analysis, factor analysis, and multiple regression analysis are done. As the summary of the result of this study, first, concerning the correlation between general characteristics of adolescents(gender, age, living quality, educational accomplishment of father or mother) and stress, the result was home circumstances stress 28%, school circumstances stress 27%, friend relationship stress 25%, learning stress 24%, parents stress 15%, and living quality among general factors showed negative correlation of home circumstances stress 23% and friend relationship 17%, and it showed that adolescents recognize their homes and friends differently according to their recognition of home circumstances. Second, concerning the correlation between adolescents' general characteristics and their adaptation to school life, the correlation between living quality and adaptation to relationship with teachers was 23%, and the correlation between living quality and adaptation to friends was 26%, and it is verified that among general characteristics, living quality is important factor to relationship with teachers or adaptation to schools. Third, concerning the correlation between adolescents' ordinary living stress and adaptation to schools, friend relationship stress showed 70% of negative correlation, and school circumstances showed meaningful correlation of 33%. As a result of this study, it is figured out that the most important factors to adolescents are friend relationship and learning stress, and to help adolescents adapt to school life, designing of consultation programs and their implementation are essential. The limitation of this study is that there were no sufficient subjects, and that regional limitation exists, and that most of the subjects are middle school students.

본 연구는 중, 고등학교 청소년들을 대상으로 청소년이 지각한 스트레스가 학교생활 적응에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아보고자 하였다. 이는 청소년들의 스트레스 요인을 분석하여 스트레스 발생률을 감소시키고, 청소년의 스트레스와 학교생활 적응과의 상관관계를 밝혀 청소년들의 학교생활 적응에 도움이 되고자 하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 전라북도에 거주하고 있는 청소년 362명(남:178, 여:184)명을 대상으로2011년 7월 11일부터 9월 14일까지 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 수집된 자료는 SPSS 11.5 프로그램에 의해 통계분석을 하였으며 구체적으로는 빈도분석, 요인분석 그리고 다중회귀 분석을 활용하였다. 본 연구의 주요결과를 요약하면 첫째, 청소년의 일반적 특성(성별, 연령, 생활정도, 부의 교육정도와 모의 교육정도)과 스트레스의 관계에서는 가정환경 스트레스 28%, 학교환경 스트레스 27%, 친구관계 스트레스 25%, 학업스트레스 24%, 부모관계 스트레스 15% 순으로 나타났으며 일반적 특성 중 생활정도는 가정환경 스트레스 23%, 친구관계 스트레스 17%의 부적상관을 보여 가정환경에 따라 청소년들은 가정에 대한 인식과 친구관계가 달라짐이 확인되었다. 둘째, 청소년의 일반적 특성과 학교적응과의 관계에서는 생활정도가 교사와의 관계적응에 23%, 친구와의 관계 적응에 26%의 상관관계를 보여 일반적 특성 중 생활정도가 교사관계나 친구관계의 학교생활 적응에 중요한 요소임이 확인되었다. 셋째, 청소년의 일상생활 스트레스와 학교적응과의 관계에서는 친구관계 스트레스가 70%의 부적상관을, 학교환경 스트레스가 33%의 유의미한 상관관계를 보였다. 본 연구결과 청소년들의 학교생활 적응에가장 큰 영향을 미치는 것은 친구관계와 학업스트레스라는 것을 알 수 있었으며, 청소년들의 학교생활 적응을 돕기 위해 친구관계를 향상시키고 학업스트레스를 감소시킬 수 있는 상담프로그램의 개발과 실시가 매우 절실하다고 할 수 있다. 본 연구는 피험자 원인이 충분치 않았고, 지역적인 한계가 있었으며, 연령분포가 중학생에 편중되어 있다는 한계점이 있다.
