The purpose of this study is to examine the features of Waldorf school instructions(WSI) and deduce the implications to Korean education system. In chapter 2, Waldorf school and anthroposophy, theoretical background of Waldorf school, were described. The author would devide the features of WSI into a object, a method, an evaluation which were discussed in chapter 3. The object of WSI is not a form of clear statement, nor have its subdevided suggestions. Instead it is quite related to extensive aims so called a human development and pursuits wisdom and strength going over the knowledge. The method of WSI is to organize the class artistically through using various type of representation and emphasizing story-telling of teacher. It also stresses individualization and relationship between teacher and student. The evaluation of WSI has a shape of describing the development of students on the whole. Today, general schools have been criticized such that the evaluation shook up the goal of education because they stressing what we called knowledge-oriented, uniformly structured, cramming method of teaching, mechanical repeated memorization, passive education, and stressing on quantifying record. The features of WSI could imply possibilities that are different from general school class.

본고의 목적은 발도르프학교 수업의 특징을 살펴보고 한국교육에의 시사점을 도출하는 것이다. 발도
르프학교는 90년대 후반 교육에서 대안을 찾고자 하는 요구 속에서 관심받기 시작하였다. 따라서 이 학교 수업이 일반학교의 수업과는 어떻게 다른지 보고자 하는 것이다. 이를 위해 Ⅱ장에서는 먼저 발도르프학교의 사상적 배경인 인지학과 발도르프학교에 대해 기술하였다. Ⅲ장에서는 발도르프학교 수업의 특징을 수업목표, 수업방법, 평가 면으로 나누어 살펴보았다. 발도르프학교 수업 목표는 일반학교에서와 달리 명시적이지 않고, 세분화된 목표제시도 없다. 대신 인간의 발달이라는 광범위한 목적과 관련되어 있으며, 지식의 획득을 넘어 지혜와 힘을 추구한다. 발도르프 수업방법은 다양한 표상 형식의 활용, 교사의 스토리텔링의 강조를 통해 수업을 예술적으로 구성한다. 또한 개별화와 교사-학생간의 관계를 중시한다. 이러한 발도르프학교의 평가는 학생의 통합적 발달을 기술하는 형태이다. 이와 같은 발도르프학교 수업의 특징은 현재 지식교육에 치중된 교육 목표, 획일화된 수업, 즉, 주입식 교육과 기계적 반복 암기식 교육, 수동적 교육, 수치화된 성적의 강조로 인해 평가가 교육의 목적을 뒤흔드는 형국이라고 비판받는 학교교육에 일반적인 학교 수업과는 다른 가능성을 시사한다.
