러시아 및 중앙아시아 국가들에 거주하는 고려인들은 70여년간 사회주의체제하에서도 한민족이라는 긍지를 버리지 않고 민족의 자긍심을 지켜왔다. 고려인들은 1985년 M.고르바쵸프의 뻬레스트로이카와 글라스노스찌, 그리고 한국에서 개최된 88올림픽으로 새로운 전기를 맞았으며, 1990년대초 소련방의 붕괴로 해서 새로운 독립된 국가들은 경제 활성화를 위해 경제체제의 전환을 이행하였다. 1990년 소련방 해체 이후 고려인들은 타 민족에 비해 국유재산의 민영화에 발 빠르게 적응하지 못하였다. 이러한 원인으로는 첫째, 소련방의 구성원이던 과거에 비해 민족주의의 대두이다. 둘째로, 중앙아시아의 고려인들은 대부분 콜호즈나 삽호즈에서 농업에 종사했기 때문이다. 이제 고려인 기업은 설립과 발전은 시작단계에 있다고 할 수 있다. 이에 한국 정부 및 기업들은 지금까지 행하여져 왔던 관습에서 이들과의 협력관계를 모색하여 고려인 기업의 발전에 기여하여야 하며, 고려인 기업들도 한국 기업과의 협력관계 적극성을 띠고 상호보완적 원칙에 입각해 발전을 도모 해야 할 것이다. 고려인 기업들의 발전을 위해 앞서 논의한 것 이외에도 상호 기업간의 장기적인 협력 마스터플랜 수립, 자국내 민족간의 융화, 고려인간 지역별 차별 타파, 기업 정보의 공개, 러시아 및 중앙아시아 고려인 기업간 경제교류의 활성화 등을 도모하여야한다. 이렇게 함으로써 러시아 및 중앙아시아 고려인 기업은 자국내에서의 지속적인 성장을 할 수 있으며, 나아가 한인 기업의 중심으로 발돋움할 수 있는 계기를 마련할 수 있을 것이다.
