As the technological innovation becomes more speedy and the preference of the consumer becomes more diverse, the new product is jumping into the market. As the lifespan of the product becomes shorter, the necessity of the commodity price index considering quality adjustment at the time of the commodity price index calculation is increasing. In this study we examined the necessity and economic meaning of the quality adjusted commodity price index calculation centered on the quality adjusted commodity price index calculation method and the applied cases using Hedonic technique which attracted the full attention as a commodity price index calculation method considering the quality adjustment.

기술혁신 속도가 가속화되고 소비자 기호도 다양화되면서 새로운 제품들이 시장에 쏟아져 나오고 있으며 제품의 수명이 짧아짐에 따라 물가지수 산정시 품질조정을 고려한 물가지수 산정에 대한 필요성이 증대하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 품질조정을 고려한 물가지수의 산정방법으로 관심을 많이 기울이고 있는 헤도닉 기법을 이용한 품질조정 물가지수 산정방법과 적용사례를 중심으로 품질조정 물가지수의 산정의 필요성 및 경제학적 의미를 살펴보았다.
