The purpose of this study was to analyze the difference of male and female players’ performance among professional volleyball teams. Four male and four female volleyball teams played from 2006∼2007 V-league to 2010∼2011 V-league in Korean Volleyball Federation(KOVO) were divided into four groups, male high-ranked, male low-ranked, female high-ranked, and female low-ranked group. The dependent variables such as open attack, quick attack, serve, blocking, receive, set, and dig were measured. The results showed that female groups had higher trials in open attack and movement attack while male groups had higher trials in quick attack. Male high-ranked group had higher success rates in open attack and back attack. The results also revealed that female groups exhibited superior performance in valid blocking and dig. In conclusion, male groups appeared to have the better performance in offense area while female groups had superior performance in defense.
