This study was conducted to examine the effects of 12-week training program on physical fitness and isokinetic muscular function in high school taekwondo players. Pre-test and post -test were conducted and the following conclusion was drawn. First, in the change of weight, a significant difference was found among male players, whereas no difference was noted among female players. In the change of % body fat, while a significant difference was found among male players, no difference was noted among female players. Second, in the change of physical fitness, male players showed a significant difference in muscular strength, flexibility, agility, and cardiorespiratory fitness, whereas female players had a significant difference in muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, cardiorespiratory fitness. Third, in the change of isokinetic muscular function, a significant difference was found in right extensor for male players, but in right and left extensor and right and left flextor for female players. Finally, in the change of maximum muscular strength, a significant difference was found in left extensor and left flexor for male players, but in right and left extensor and right and left flextor for female players. Based on this result, it is considered that the 12-week training program can improve body composition, physical fitness, and isokinetic strength in high school taekwondo players and a continuous and systematic training program will greatly contribute to improving athletic ability. It is necessary that the training program should be planned to carefully consider the balance of players' physical fitness and the proportion of skill training.
