This study aims to derive propositions related with the research question of how to activate green tourism. We introduce three propositions. Proposition 1 is: the social capital of community is likely to affect resident participation in green tourism.
Proposition 2 is: the social capital of individual in community is likely to affect resident participation in green tourism. Finally, proposition 3 is: individual attributes of residents in community are likely to affect their participation in green tourism. The study will help us infer how social capital affect the variables related with resident participation in green tourism.

농촌관광에서는 농촌주민들이 중요한 구성원이므로 농촌관광사업에서 농촌주민들이 적극적이고 효율적으로 참여하도록 하는 문제는 매우 중요한 과제이다. 본 연구에서는 농촌주민들이 그 지역의 관광개발에 참여하는데 있어 지역에 축척되어 있는 전체적인 사회자본이나 혹은 개인이 가지고 있는 사회자본 및 개인적 특성이 영향을 미칠 것으로 가정한다. 이러한 가정을 통하여 농촌관광을 활성화 시키기 위한 주민 참여제고 전략를 도출하는 토대를 만든다.
