As the importance of websites is expanding to various service sectors, there is increasing interest in improving user satisfaction in creating a website. To maximize user satisfaction, visual design should reflect end-user preferences. In this regard, the current study particularly examined the differences between male and female responses to visual design elements. Based on a survey with college students, there was no difference between the two groups in the influence of information quality and navigation quality on the satisfaction. However, there are gender differences with regard to visual stimuli, with women focusing more on color. These findings provide strategic suggestions for web designers by considering the gender characteristics of target users.
