It is desirable for the Government to teach students about Government Accounting in normal educational institutions like junior colleges, colleges, or universities before they take the positions of dealing with Government Accounting.
For the desirable Governmental Accounting Education followings are needed. First, Double-Entry Accrual Governmental Accounting System is so new to Korean Government and Korean Society that all related people like scholars of public administration, accounting, computer science, and public officials must cooperate closely together to naturalize it in Korean Government and Society.
They must learn from each other so that they need opportunities of mutual learning. Association of Government Accounting has provded and will provide these opportunities.
Second, the exam of Korea Certified Public Accountant should test Government Accounting knowledge of examinees or Korean Government should provide certificates for the Government Accountant. Recent legislation for the independent audit opinion for the financial reports in local government helps much to give incentives to study Government Accounting.
Third, construction of networks of professionals on Government Accounting helps to increase interest in the Government Accounting and to give much advice for the practicioners.

정부회계 교육은 기존의 교육기관의 교과목으로 교육될 수 있는 경우에 정착되는 것이라고 할 것이다.본 논문에서는 정부회계 교육의 실태를 살펴보고,앞으로 대학에서 정부회계 과목이 교육되어, 정부회계 업무를 담당하기 이전에 관련 전문 지식을 습득하도록 하게 하기 위하여 어떻게 노력하여야 할 것인가를 검토하였다.
정부회계는 회계학, 행정학, 전산학, 실무담당자의 긴밀한 협력이 있어야 변화가 가능한 분야이다. 제도를 발전시켜 나가는데 있어서 상호 학습이 절실하게 필요하므로 공동학습의 장을 마련하여 나가려는 노력이 계속 요구된다. 이러한 노력은 학회를 통하여 이루어질 수 있다.
공인회계사 과목에 정부회계학을 포함시키거나, 정부회계사제도를 마련하는 것도 정부회계교육의 정착에 많은 도움이 된다. 또한 정부회계에 대한 외부 감사와 같은 제도가 마련된 것은 바람직한 것이다.
정부회계학의 저변을 확대하기 위하여 전문가 네트워크를 형성하여 상호학습을 하도록 하는 것도 실무자에 대한 직접적인 도움을 줄 수 있는 좋은 방안이라 하겠다.
