This study aims to understand ethical dilemma that workers in child-care facilities face in the situation of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome based on utilitarian, principled, care-oriented, cultural perspectives.
Suggestions have been made as follows; 1) Standardized procedures for parents and child-care facilities should be provided from the Mistry of Health and Welfare, 2) Utilitarian and principled approach should be considered together instead of the care-oriented approach, 3) Parents and facilities should be responsible for SIDE, which is drawn from the cultural perspective.

본 연구의 목적은 보육시설 내에서 SIDS 발생 시 어린이집 교직원은 어떤 윤리적 문제가 있으며, 이를 우리 사회와 부모가 어떻게 수용해야 할 것인지를 윤리적 틀의 접근법과 문화적 접근을 통해서 시사점을 제안하고자 한다.
연구 결론, 첫째, 어린이집, 지역 정보센터, 그리고 보건복지부는 각자의 수준에서 SIDS 관련 윤리적 기본틀을 마련해야 한다. 둘째, 어린이집 교직원의 윤리적 틀을 돌봄-기반 접근과 원리적 접근에서 공리주의적 접근을 절충하는 통합적 접근이 요구된다. 셋째, 과거의 문화와 현재의 문화를 조화시켜 영아의 SIDS를 합리적으로 인식할 수 있는 통합 문화를 재창출해야 한다.
