This study looked into educational policies to date from the liberation from Japanese colonial rule and investigated what impacts music educational policies have had by field and how they changed. This study was carried out by mainly literature research through various data, and the following six music education policies were examined: curriculum, textbooks for music subject, teacher education, teacher appointment, in-service teacher training and educational tools and facilities.
The music education policy fields can be segmented diversely and each field has to closely interact one another. Also, in-depth research of each field is required. The development of music education should be pursed by presenting a future development direction, after investigating the current music education from various angles.

본 연구는 해방이후부터 현재까지의 음악교육정책이 각 분야별로 어떠한 변화를 보이는지를 고찰하였다. 이것은 다양한 자료들을 통한 문헌연구를 중심으로 하였으며, 음악교육정책 중 교육과정, 교과용 도서, 교원 양성, 교원 임용, 교원 연수, 교구 및 시설의 6가지 정책을 중심으로 살펴보았다.
음악교육정책의 분야는 여러 가지로 세분화 할 수 있으며, 각 분야는 서로 긴밀한 상호작용이 이루어져야 한다. 또한 각 분야에 대한 더욱 심도 있는 연구가 필요하다. 다양한 각도에서 음악교육의 현재를 살펴보고, 앞으로의 발전방향을 제시함으로 음악교육의 발전을 모색해야 할 것이다.
