The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of aute exercise on blood glucose metabolism and cytokines after oral glucose ingestion in type 2 diabetic patients. The subjects(n=7) ingested glucose solution for oral glucose tolerance test(OGTT). The paticipants performed in two trials: glucose solution ingestion and rest(control) and 60%HRRmax treadmill exercise for 30min immediately after ingestion and recovery. Blood glucose recovery and Insulin concentration were significantly decreased after exercise than control group. IL-6 in exercise group was showed a tendency to decrease occurred after exercise 90, 120min. Whereas, TNF-α was showed no significantly difference according to recovery of exercise. These results suggested that acute exercise could be effective on blood glucose metabolism and cytokines following with acute exercise.
