The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of participation level in the tennis club activity on social life adjustment Members of internet tennis club were selected by the multi-stage stratified cluster sampling method. A total of 300 members who reside in Seoul participated in the study. The survey questionnaires were developed and used. The questionnaires for demographic characteristics were included gender, age, jobs cluster by knowledge-economic department (2008) and monthly income level. The questionnaires for degree of participation were based on duration of activity in tennis club, weekly frequency, and time period of tennis club activity in a day. And the questionnaires, SASS (social Adaptation Self-rating Scale), for social life adaptation were based on Bosc, Dubini & Polin, regulated by Seungback Han (2002). For the statistical analysis, reliability analysis, descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA were conducted. Results of the study indicated that there is a significant relationship between the participation in tennis club and social life adaptation. First, demographic characteristics (i.e., gender, age, and income) had significant influence on the magnitude of tennis club participation. Second, the level of an individual’s social adaptation differed by the gender. However, no significant difference was found between social adaptation and gender, occupation, and income. Lastly, the degree to which an individual participate in tennis club activities had significant influence on the frequency of participation (i.e., the recreation and social adaptation). However, no difference was found on the frequency of participation and the strength of participation.
