The purpose of the study is to make the「Damage & Repair Measured Hysteretic Drawings」about external wall of brick structures, focused on the old main building of Naedeok-dong Cheongju Commercial High School. This study was carried out through literatures, field survey and interview with manager. From 1935 to 2011, the major historical records including name change, extension work, removal and maintenance are 11 cases. The 5 cases of them have been effected on the external wall. Firstly, the causes of damage on external walls are 5; ① damage by Korean War in 1950, ② damage by the building clearance in 1991, ③ damage by the repair work in 2001, ④ damage by the roof leak from 2003 to 2004, and ⑤ damage after the repair of the outdoor wall and the lintel in 2008. Secondly, the forms of damage on the external walls are as follows; ① round-shaped damage in some portion of the bricks, ② unbalance in color and array between original materials and new materials used to repair, ③ change of color on some portion appeared in 28-layer on the bottom walls of the windows and the doors by new materials used to repair, ④ blushing and change of color on 24-layer wall around the roof due to the roof leak, and ⑤ drop and crack of materials in windows and the doors repaired. Finally, making 「Damage & Repair Measured Hysteretic Drawings」 is based on the history video and it is expressed as tone and thickness according to damage form and content; crack, traces of repairing, and ranges of changed color.

돌조 건축물 외벽체의 유지관리를 위한 선행 연구로서,「내덕동 청주상고 구 본관」사례를 중심으로 시기별 건축물 훼손 및 보수내용을 기록한 훼손 이력도를 작성한 바, 다음과 같은 내용을 끌어낼 수 있었다. 첫째, 문헌자료, 현장상주 및 관리인과의 인터뷰조사를 통하여 파악된 외벽체 훼손이력 내용으로는, 1950년 6.25 한국전쟁으로 인한 훼손(①), 1991년 건물 철거에 의한 훼손(②), 2001년 보수로 인한 벽체 훼손(③), 2003-2004년 지붕누수로 인한 벽돌훼손(④), 2008년 외벽창호 및 인방 보수 이후 훼손(⑤) 등 총 5건을 확인할 수 있다. 둘째, 문헌 및 인터뷰조사로 추출된 5건의 훼손 항목 각각에 대한 보다 상세한 현장조사를 통하여 파악된 훼손 및 보수보강 내용으로는, 벽돌재료의 일부분이 원형의 형태로 파손(①), 보수부위에 사용된 보수재료의 차이로 색, 벽체배열의 부조화(②), 보수재료로 인해 창호 하부 벽체 28켜 내외에서 일부분 변색(③), 지붕 누수로 인해 지붕 부근 벽체의 24켜 내외에서 일부분 백화 및 변색(④), 보수된 창호인방에서의 재료 탈락 및 균열(⑤) 등으로 나타났다. 셋째, 훼손 이력도의 작성은 기본적으로 정사영상을 통해 현상 그대로 작성되고, 표현방법은 훼손 항목 따라 명도로 구분하였다. 파손 및 균열 항목인 ①, ⑤항목은 ‘명도0’으로, 연결부위 및 보수흔적이 남아있는(②) 항목의 부위에 대해서는 왜곡이 없도록 ‘명도3’으로, 변색의 ③, ④항목은 변색범위를 구분하여 ‘명도6’으로 추가 표현하였다. 이러한 명도차에 의한 훼손 이력의 표현은 여러 종류의 결함에 대한 표현이 불가능하고, 다른 유형의 훼손 항목 발생 시 표현이 한정적 이라는 문제점이 있어 훼손 표현 방법에 대한 보완 연구가 있어야 할 것이다.
