A university has sent a group of Korean pre-service teachers to schools in the U.S.A. four time for two years. Each group worked at American schools for about twenty weeks. For the purpose of the study is to develop a model or procedure of student teaching in other country. In other to accomplish it the researcher explored all process related. Also all documents necessary of each steps were collected. Two American program were analyzed : Consortium for Overseas Student Teaching and Global Student Teaching. A draft of the procedure was made based on both the American program and the author's experience of one year. It is reviewed by students who had completed the overseas student teaching. With adding their input on the draft, another version was finished. It was reviewed again by another experienced group of students. Four steps are categorized for sending education major students to other countries: recruit and application, orientation, practicum, and return. Each of them were described in detail. All documents and data were provided. The results of this study contribute to specify the current work and will serve as a patten for prospecting institutes who have a plan to launch an overseas student teaching program. At the end of paper some suggestions for global student teaching program and area for research were provided.

본 연구는 우리나라의 예비교사들을 외국으로 교육실습을 보내는 프로그램의 모형을 개발하여 해마다 반복되는 절차를 명세화 하는데 목적이 있다. 이러한 연구 목적을 달성하기 위하여 국제교육실습의 절차는 어떠한지, 각 절차에 필요한 자료는 어떠한 것들이 있는지 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 미국의 국제교육실습 기관 두 곳의 사례를 검토하였으며, 국제교육센터 실무 기록과 협력 기관의 사례를 살펴보았고, 국제교육실습을 다녀온 학생들의 견해를 추가하였다. 국제교육실습 모형은 다음과 같은 단계를 포함하였다: 모집 및 응모, 사전 교육, 현지 교육실습, 귀국. 이들 절차를 상세하게 설명하였으며, 그 절차마다 필요한 서류 및 자료를 설명하였다. 따라서 본 연구의 결과는 현재 시행중인 국제교육실습의 내실화에 기여할 뿐만 아니라, 유사한 프로그램을 실시하고자 하는 기관에도 시사점을 제공한다. 논문의 말미에는 국제교육실습의 발전을 위한 제언과 연구가 필요한 분야가 제언되었다.
