The study was carried out by the process of inter-subjective discussion on geographical and political issues of Beijing Olympics by being focused on changes of Chinese sports culture after Beijing Olympics was opened. Considering and analyzing 1st and 2nd domestic/foreign data disclosed and discussed from the opening of Beijing Olympics to present, the study got the following conclusion.
Since 2008 Beijing Olympics was opened, China has changed its national identity and image by being emerged to be the strongest country in East Asia. And it contributed to raising national dignity and to changing public recognition about sports culture. In addition, the successful opening of Beijing Olympics made a foundation of confidence to open 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games and strengthened international competitiveness through sports diplomacy. The successful opening of Beijing Olympics gives notice of an inevitable competition in attracting mega events including 2018 Winter Olympics, Asian Games and 2020 World Cup. Such China’s attraction and opening of mega sports events are a premise that Korea should take a continuous interest in geopolitical changes focused on the East Asian area since Beijing Olympics was opened. On the results of the successful opening of 2008 Beijing Olympics, China appears its intention to conduct as a country to lead the
East Asian politics in diverse ways.

본 연구는 베이징 올림픽 개최이후 중국의 스포츠 문화의 변화에 초점을 맞추고 베이징 올림픽이 갖는 효과와 지리적, 정치적 이슈에 대해 상호주관적 논의(Inter-subjective Discussion)의 과정을 통해 연구를 수행하였다. 연구의 특성상 베이징 올림픽 개최 이후로부터 현재까지 밝혀지고 논의된 국내외 1, 2차 자료를 토대로 고찰․분석하여 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다.
2008년 베이징 올림픽 이후 중국은 동아시아의 최고 강대국으로 떠오르면서 국가정체성과 이미지를 바꾸었을 뿐만 아니라 국가적 자존감을 고취시키는데 기여했고 스포츠 문화에 대한 공공의 인식을 바꿔놓는데 기여했다. 또한 베이징올림픽의 성공적인 개최는 2010 광저우 아시안게임을 주최하고자 하는 자신감의 기틀을 마련했고 스포츠외교를 통해 국제적 경쟁력을 강화시켰다. 베이징 올림픽의 성공적인 개최는 2018 동계올림픽, 아시안게임, 2020월드컵과 같은 대규모 대회 유치 경쟁에 있어 불가피한 경쟁을 예고한다. 이러한 중국의 스포츠 메가이벤트 유치 및 개최는 대한민국이 베이징 올림픽 이후 동아시아 지역으로 집중되는 지정학적 변화에 지속적인 관심을 가져야 할 전제가 되는 것이다. 중국은 최근 성공적인 올림픽 결과를 토대로 동아시아 정치를 주도하는 국가로 행동할 것이라는 의도를 다각적인 측면에서 나타내고 있다.
