The mutual understanding and communication between Buddhism and Christianity in Korea which is a multireligious society. However The mutual understanding and communication between Buddhism and Christianity are insufficient yet. The purpose of this thesis is to make a comparative study of the view of buddha in Buddhism and the view of god in Christianity and to widen the mutual understanding and communication between Buddhism and Christianity. For this purpose this thesis is to make a comparative study of the view of buddha in Hwa-Eom Sutra and the view of god in Christianity. The view of buddha in Hwa-Eom Sutra contains a theory of the three body of buddha which includes dharma-body buddha, reward-body buddha, transformation body buddha. This thesis analyzed in detail the character of dharma-body buddha, reward-body buddha, transformation body buddha and made clear that three bodies of buddha are the same one, and gave a explanation what is the view of salvation that a theory of the three body of buddha contains. And this thesis analyzed the views of god in conservative conventional christianity, christian mysticism of Meister Eckhart and religious pluralistic christianity, and then made a comparison them with the view of buddha in Hwa-Eom Sutra. This comparative analysis revealed the view of god and salvation in Christianity can communicate with the view of buddha in Hwa-Eom Sutra. Consequently, this thesis made clear how the Buddhism and Christianity must make a effort to communicate each other and make a contribution to our happy and peaceful life in the multireligious society.

다종교사회인 한국사회에서 영향력이 큰 불교와 기독교 간의 이해와 소통은 절실하다. 그럼에도 불구하고 아직 양 종교 사이에는 상호 이해와 소통이 부족한 상황이다. 이 글은 불교와 기독교의 궁극적인 깨달음과 신앙의 대상이 되는 불타와 신 개념을 비교 연구함으로써 양 종교 상호 간의 이해와 소통을 넓혀보려는 노력의 일부이다. 이를 위해 이 글에서는 『화엄경』의 불타관과 기독교의 신관을 비교 분석하였다. 『화엄경』의 불타관은 법신불, 보신불, 화신불이라는 삼신불 사상을 포함하고 있다. 이 글에서는 『화엄경』에 나타난 법신불, 보신불, 화신불의 성격을 상세히 분석하고, 삼신불이 서로 다르지 않다는 것을 밝히고, 나아가 그것이 함축하고 있는 불교의 구원관도 해명하였다. 이어서 이 글에서는 불교에 대한 태도에서 양 극단에 서 있는 보수적인 전통적 기독교와 에크하르트의 기독교 신비주의 및 종교다원주의적 기독교의 신관을 분석하고, 이를 『화엄경』의 불타관과 비교하였다. 이런 비교 분석에 의해 기독교의 신관과 그에 기초한 구원관 가운데서 어떤 부분이 『화엄경』의 불타관과 상통하거나 양립하기 어려운가를 해명하였다. 그리고 이를 통해 이 글에서는 결국 다문화․다종교 사회 속에서 불교와 기독교가 상호 소통하고 공존하면서 우리의 행복하고 평화로운 삶을 위해 기여할 수 있도록 하기 위해서 서로 어떻게 노력해 나가야 하는가를 밝혔다.
