Korea Wave means the vigorous drive toward Korean mass culture among the young generation of East Asian countries. The Korea Wave has had great socio-cultural and economic effects on China and East Asian countries and even made a new word 'Hawhanzoo(􈸶􈸦􈫦)' which mean the Korea Wave fan.
The most important characteristic of the Korea Wave is that the followers are the young generation of the upper classes of those regions who are apt to learn and use the Internet and the culture of the Information Age. This means that the future leaders of the East Asia countries are sympathizing with the characteristics of modern Korean culture and its vision. They are absorbing positively the Korea Wave as their spiritual foundation upon which their world views and value judgements are conglomerated. Therefore, in this article I'd like to consider new possibilities in the Korea Wave which pave roads to a cultural community around East Asia in the age of information.

􎘜한류􎘝는 동아시아에서 유행하고 있는 한국 대중문화 열풍을 가리키는 말로써, 중국에 그 팬을 뜻하는 ‘하한쭈’라는 신조어를 만들어 낼 정도로 큰 사회 문화적 파급효과를 보인다. 하한쭈는 주로 인터넷과 컴퓨터 문화에 익숙한 유산 계층의 청소년들로 이루어져 있다. 이는 동아시아 미래의 지도층들이 현재의 한국 문화의 생산력과 비전에 공감하며, 자신들의 가치관과 세계관을 형성하는데 이를 긍정적인
기초 토양으로 받아들임을 뜻한다. 그러나 동아시아의 새로운 청년 문화인 􎘜한류􎘝에 대한 학술적 연구는 미진한 실정이다.
그러므로 이 글은 21세기 세방화(Glocalization) 공간에서 􎘜한류􎘝 문화 현상이 지니는 의미와 가치를 규명하고 또한 새로운 비전을 제시하기 위해 인문학적 성찰을 시도한다. 즉, 근대화 이후 동아시아 지역이 정치, 사회, 문화적으로 소원했음에도 불구하고 􎘜한류􎘝열풍이 동시에 일어남은, 􎘜한류􎘝가 동아시아인들의 감성과 현대적 삶의 가치를 조화시키는 새로운 매개 역할을 하기 때문으로 사료된다. 따라서 􎘜한류􎘝현상은 한국문화와 상품의 동아시아 시장 개척이라는 소극적인 차원을 넘어서 문화공동체에 대한 아시아인들의 욕구가 표현된 것으로 이해될 수 있을 것이다.
