Korea society is come to the multi-cultural society. These conditions causes social conflicts. Among various protection policies, this article argues about security policies through police activities. We have tried to analyze and suggest solutions for security problems which occurs during the marriage and settlement of foreign immigrant wives. This study wants to talk about the damage occurs during the process of international marriage. The research give five specific types of damage. First human rights violations by the expedient of the mediation process. Second, providing false personal information of Korean men. Third, misappropriation of marriage portion and brokerage. Fourth uncertain matchmaking agencies and false advertisement. Finally, the careless management of administrative agency, careless crackdown of machinery of law, and the problems of the matchmaking agencies. The police have introduced countermeasures against damage caused by marriage brokering. Namely, Active role of overseas resident police and cooperation between local police, Building cooperation system with Interpol, who are capable of global cooperation and collaboration, Applying strict legal action against illegal acts of international marriage brokers, Detecting flaws in our policies and making appropriate modifications by reporting to related institutions. And for the police activities and measures to help married foreign immigrant wives settle safely in Korean society, we have highlighted the necessity to (1) Utilize policemen lecturers in domestic violence prevention education held by local governments (2) Opening 'Foreign immigrant wives damage report center' with policemen who are capable of interpretation. (3) Employing foreign immigrant wives who have acquired Korean nationality as police force (4) Compensating foreign immigrant wives for crime damages. As a result strict legal action should be enacted to protect human rights of foreign immigrant wives from illegal acts of international marriage brokers. Also, we need continuous police activities to help and protect married foreign immigrant wives.

우리 사회는 다문화사회에로의 진입으로 인하여 여러 가지 사회적 갈등이 제 기되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 국제결혼으로 이루어지는 다문화가정의 이주여성 들을 대상으로 정부의 여러 가지 보호방안 중에서 경찰활동을 통한 보호방안을 중점 논한다. 특히 결혼이주여성의 결혼중매과정에서 인권침해의 문제와 결혼 후 국내에 안전하게 정착하는데 방해가 되는 등 다섯 가지의 피해를 도출하였 다.첫째는 편법의 중개절차에 의한 인권침해,둘째는 허위 또는 부실한 남성의 신상정보 제 공 셋째는 지참금 횡령 및 중개수수료의 문제 넷째는 , , 결혼중개업 체의 난립 및 허위·과장광고 등이며 마지막으로 해외 제휴업체 및 지사의 관리 문제 등 결혼중개업(소)에 대한 관리소홀 등이다. 이에 따라 재외 경찰주재관의 적극적인 역할과 현지 경찰과의 관계강화 및 실무협력, 인터폴과의 협조체제 구축,현지 업체 등에 대한 실효적인 관리강화,결혼중개업법 등 법령의 개정 및 보완 등의 경찰활동이 이루어져야 한다. 또한 이주여성이 결혼 후 국내에 안 정적으로 정착할 수 있도록 하기 위하여 가정폭력에 대한 예방교육의 지원, 이 주여성의 피해보호 및 신고센타 운영, 국적취득자의 경찰인력으로 채용 등의 경찰역할이 필요하다. 결론적으로 결혼중개업자의 불법행위를 철저히 파악하여 이주여성의 피해방지와 인권침해 보호를 위한 경찰활동을 강화해야 한다. 이를 위해 불법행위가 많은 국가들과는 친밀한 관계유지 및 경찰협력을 강화하고 결 혼이주여성의 보호에 관한 지속적인 관심과 경찰활동을 수행하여야 한다.
